Forget Avenue Q. G Street is where it’s at.

I’m visiting my parents in VA this weekend. Which allowed NiceGirl (from PR) and I to finally have our blind ‘girl date’ yesterday. We met at the Fall’s Church G Street Fabric just outside of Washington DC. Now, I need more fabric like I need a hole in my head.

But, here’s my loot from the $2.97 table. A black and white pinstripe cotton, a dusty rose knit, a dark brown knit and a dusty rose striped shirting with a touch of stretch. I also got some zippers and patterns.

It was nice to talk sewing and dating and not have my companion get that glazed look. We’ll be getting together soon to make paper tape dressforms.

My first Kwik Sew! Two weeks ago I watched my best friend buy a RTW version of this pattern for $238. I did pull myself away from an orange knit and pretty apple green jersey at G Street. See, I have boundries.

Let’s just call it Divine Inspiration. I’ve put these two together because sitting in church yesterday it occured to me that the Hot Patterns Cosmopolitan (are you sick of me talking about that dress yet?) would be very pretty in two colors. Especially now that Christina has sent me a Threads article on how to bind with knits. I’m thinking bodice and skirt in brown, rose for a neckline binding, waist and ties.
