I love buttons

This weekend I made a peach cobbler for six. There’s one serving left. Yes, I ate all of it. A friend asked me to save her a piece. I think I’m going to pretend I didn’t get that text message.

I also sorted through my $5 Fabric Mart bulk buttons. I have hundreds of plastic faux leather and white satin covered buttons. Other than that, I got a great basic set. I should never really need to get buttons again. Except…

I am so intrigued by the buttons that I ordered a second 4 lbs bag along with a cotton blend chocolate colored ripstop (#806599) to make the BWOF 8/2007 #111 cape in. I’m hoping this order will include more gem colored buttons.

As for Butterick 4919, I am happy to say it’s resting politely on a hanger waiting for the bias to fall. While I love the retro look, I’m not sure if it’s too long or not…. I’ll write a full review once I’m done with the detail work.

The fabric I used is from Fabric Mart and currently just $1.25 a yard. This means I just made a five yard dress for about $6. Love it.
