Let’s start with dessert, eh? We had one of three farewell parties last week for my boss. The first was a potluck, for which I baked cupcakes. For the second party, I drank margaritas. It was at a Mexican spot. The last one is on Tuesday in Little Italy. I’ll just drink.
Pretty in pink and yellow. I really want to work on my presentation / decorating skills this year.
My soup this week was Thai Chicken Soup. The recipe is from Cooks Illustrated. It’s SO GOOD. Like, mouth watering good. And, I don’t even like coconut and cilantro and I was gobbling this up. I won’t lie, it took a trip to my Asian market for a lot of the ingredients. But, I’ll be making this a lot. The only thing I changed was chicken breasts to thighs and one of my cans of coconut milk is ‘light’.
I love cilantro and coconut, I already printed the recipe =)
Mmmm, this is one of my absolute all time favorite soups!! It’s really good with the shrimp, too.
Oh my, you are killing me with these soup photos! I LOOOOVE soup, even in the summertime.
I think I need a cupcake rack like that – don’t I? Pretty and delicious!
Those cupcakes are pretty, but I LOVE Thai soup!
ooo, a change of pace from Hot and Sour Soup (which I’m making today because it is in the ‘damn cold’ range and I insist on making something that will warm us up inside and outside. This is great – I’m going to put it into rotation for sure. Thank you!!
Wow, the soup looks like another winner! I love Thai flavors.
Oh my….how tempting!
Yummy! If you want to work on your decorating skill with cakes, get a copy of Rose Beranbaum’s The Cake Bible. She also has a divine cookie book as well as Pies and Pastries. They are all fabulous with wonderful instructions. I’ve made her chocolate leaves and they are gorgeous on a glazed chocolate torte. I also used to make wedding cakes per her instructions.
Ohhh, yum. I love Thai soup.
Yum yum yum. The soup looks divine and so do the cupcakes. You’ve just solved my “what to cook for tomorrow’s dinner” dilemma.
Pretty cupcakes! I love tom ka (the Thai soup) and I’ve been looking for a good recipe. This one sounds perfect… I’m going to have to try it! Thanks!
