I can’t stay off of my Pinterest! It’s an awesome website that permantly catalouges images and links from websites for you. Unlike saving to your Flickr or Photobucket, you don’t have to download the photo and re-upload it. Or, for some sites like Burda without a JPG URL, it will capture the photo from the page for you.
I’ve got several mood board going right now including garments I want to make, patterns I’m digging, bicycle accoutrements, and hats. It’s *addictive*. It was also great for cataloging all the American Girl stuff you guys were pointing me to. I’ve got a slew of images saved on my hard drive that I can’t wait to upload and catalouge. Ooooh! Maybe I can even use this to save my pattern collection?
Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. Peope use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.
It’s conveniently and visually all in one place. You can follow your friends and like minded people and see what they are Pinning or creating new boards for.
If you’re not familar with Pinterest, check it out!
I have a Pinterest invite…and I can’t get myself motivated to use it. I waste enough of my time on places like Facebook…this feels like another time-suck of the visual variety.
I love Pinterest!!!! It’s much better than Polyvore, although I still go there to find some fashion inspiration for my pinterest.
I have requested an invitation twice over the past couple of months and it’s never arrived. What’s with that? I just tried again.
i LOVE pinterest! you can find some fun stuff too by clicking on the ‘everything’ tab, and then you can see what everyone else is pinning too. i find a lot of recipes that way.
I’ve addicted my entire family to Pinterest! Even started a thread on PR about it. Such a great way to keep an neverending list of loves and wants together in one place!
I love Pinterest! Hashi, I think I can send you an invite…lemme go try right now!
I was just about to send you an email saying “don’t you love Pinterest?” Best thing since the internet.
I, too am addicted to Pinterest. Once you get started you can’t stop. I am using it to catalogue my sewing book library and details on jeans (for when I finally get around to making them). I was considering using it to catalogue my patterns, but I don’t know. There are so many possibilties for it’s use.
Thanks, I’d never heard of it. Of course, I already spend too much time online!
I think I am a member?? I have a pin on my bar (or whatever you call the top of your screen) but haven’t got around to using it. Looks like fun 🙂
How long did it take you to get an invite for pinterest? I would love to get started but I’m on the waiting list…
emzdot, I have 5 invites left — email me at patternjunkie1 (at) gmail (dot) com and I’ll send you one!
thank you so much! I am in now 🙂
Mine came in one to two days. I was actually surprised considering it took me almost a week to get a Ravelry invite.
Was mildly addicted to it, until I started pinning a variety of things for my daughter’s wedding next April. Now I’m TOTALLY addicted, lol.
Renee, you’ve completely changed the way I browse … WOW! There’s even a ‘dead famous’ moodboard for my husband’s pending birthday party! 🙂
It’s so easy isn’t it? Love the moodboard name 🙂
